Spring flowers like no other: Chaenomeles

We get so happy with spring! Especially now that early flowering shrubs announce spring with their floral splendor. One of the first spring flowering shrubs is Chaenomeles, also known as flowering quince Already in early spring, this shrub brings an explosion of colour to your garden. With its spectacular flowers, Chaenomeles is a true eye-catcher. Be surprised by this versatile beauty!

Meet the abundantly flowering Chaenomeles

Admittedly, the name takes some practice. But don't let this stop you, because Chaenomeles really has everything you want from a shrub. With a height of up to 150 centimeters, a quince is perfect for both larger and smaller gardens. It is a shrub that flowers profusely early in the year. Nice to know: the branches are covered with flowers and look great in a vase. A Chaenomeles requires little maintenance, is not fussy about its location and thrives in any type of soil. Once it is settled it is also very tolerant to heat and drought.

The choice of Proven Winners®

In the Proven Winners® assortment you will find the most beautiful Chaenomeles varieties. The plants are all part of the Storm series.

They are therefore 'stormy' good: richly flowering with beautiful large double flowers in early spring and with a second, less profuse, flowering in summer. But what makes them really special is that, unlike normal quince varieties, they are thornless. So no risk of getting punctured if you cut off a branch for in a bouquet.

Within the Storm series, the difference is mainly in the colour of the flowers. Mango Storm has soft orange flowers, Scarlet Storm flowers are red, Pink Storm flowers are pink and Orange Storm flowers treat you to a bright orange colour.

Bring colour into your garden early in spring and choose one of the Chaenomeles plants from the Storm series. Or plant a mix for a spectacular colour explosion!
